New Movies/Series on the Block

September is bringing a fresh wave of entertainment, with Nollywood releases, Hollywood action, romance, and high stakes television giving audiences plenty of reasons to stay glued to their screens.

King Kòsókò: The Battle for Lagos

King Kòsókò: The Battle for Lagos brings a powerful historical story to the big screen, exploring a kingdom, a contested crown, loyalty, ambition, and war. The FilmOne production is built around the legendary King Kosoko and his battle for control of Lagos, with the film opening in Nigerian cinemas on August 28.

Mutiny

Mutiny puts Jason Statham back in familiar action territory. He plays Cole Reed, a former Special Forces operative and police officer who becomes caught in an international conspiracy after being framed for the murder of his billionaire friend. The film combines high stakes action with a dangerous fight to uncover the truth.

Where Is Mr. Right?

For lovers of romance and drama, Where Is Mr. Right? follows successful event planner Bunmi as she searches for true love. Her determination to find the ideal partner takes her on a chaotic and emotional journey filled with unexpected twists, heartbreak, and new possibilities.

Lioness (Season 3)

Lioness Season 3 returns with Zoe Saldaña’s Joe McNamara facing one of her most personal and dangerous missions yet. The new season raises the stakes with foreign operatives, hidden networks, betrayals, and an increasingly complicated battle between Joe’s professional responsibilities and her personal life.

The End of Oak Street

Rounding out the lineup is The End of Oak Street, an imaginative sci-fi survival adventure starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor. The story follows a suburban family whose neighbourhood is mysteriously transported into a prehistoric world filled with dinosaurs, forcing them to fight for survival while navigating the chaos around them.

From the historic battle for Lagos to international conspiracies, complicated romance, covert missions, and prehistoric survival, these new releases offer plenty of fresh entertainment for audiences looking for something different.
