Everton Agree £40 Million Deal to Bring Folarin Balogun Back to Premier League

Everton have agreed a deal with Monaco to sign United States striker Folarin Balogun for around £40 million, paving the way for the 25 year old forward to return to the Premier League three years after leaving Arsenal. The agreement is worth about €45 million upfront plus €5 million in potential bonuses, with a future sale clause also included, as reported by The Guardian and Reuters.

Balogun is coming off an impressive 2025/26 campaign with Monaco, where he scored 19 goals and provided five assists, and he also emerged as one of the United States’ leading performers at the 2026 World Cup, scoring three goals. Across three seasons in France, he recorded 31 goals in 91 appearances.

The transfer is part of David Moyes’ attacking rebuild at Everton, with the club preparing for the departure of Beto to Fiorentina. Balogun is expected to provide a younger focal point for the attack as Everton look to build on their positive start to the Premier League season.

Balogun, who was born in New York to Nigerian parents and raised in England, came through Arsenal’s academy before enjoying a breakthrough loan spell at Reims. His proposed Everton move would give him another opportunity to establish himself in English football while becoming one of the most significant USMNT transfers in history.
