Algeria’s Air Algérie Orders 10 Boeing 737 MAX 8 Jets to Modernize Fleet

Air Algérie, Algeria’s national carrier, has placed an order for 10 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft as part of a broader strategy to modernise its fleet and strengthen its competitiveness in the aviation sector, according to Reuters.

The airline said the acquisition is aimed at upgrading its aircraft portfolio, expanding its route network, and improving passenger service quality, aligning with a national push to develop the country’s civil aviation industry.

Deliveries are scheduled in phases, with five aircraft expected in the second half of 2026 and the remaining five in 2027, allowing for a gradual integration into operations.

While financial terms were not disclosed, the order reflects Air Algérie’s long-term plan to keep pace with global aviation trends and meet growing domestic and international travel demand, reinforcing its position in regional and international markets.
