The Country Man Live Set to Become Annual Cultural Staple After Unforgettable Lagos Debut

On December 28, 2025, Bature Brewery came alive as The Country Man Live delivered a night of exceptional music, energy, and cultural celebration. The inaugural edition drew a diverse audience, from music lovers and creatives to business leaders and expatriates, all witnessing a performance defined by artistry, authenticity, and live entertainment excellence.

The concert featured standout acts including ClayrocksU, celebrated as the Queen of AfroRock; Zadok, fondly called the Preacher of Love; Progress, winner of Nigerian Idol Season 7; and Jackson Supernova, acclaimed as the King of Blues. Jazz Priest, Lovesick, and Jarumi Jr. added further layers to the evening, creating a dynamic musical journey that captivated the crowd throughout the night.

Headliner Ochiora Okogeri, popularly known as The Country Man, commanded the stage for over two hours, blending original songs with classic country hits. Fans responded with repeated encores and sustained applause, reflecting a deep connection between artist and audience. Speaking on the event, he said, “Seeing everyone come together through music, culture, and storytelling reminds me why live experiences matter. This is just the beginning of something special.”

The production quality, visual storytelling, and overall atmosphere were widely praised. Notable attendees included Wessel De Haas, former Deputy Managing Director of Shell Petroleum Development Company, alongside celebrities and an international audience, underscoring the event’s broad cultural and global appeal.
