The inaugural edition drew a diverse audience, from music lovers and creatives to business leaders and expatriates, all witnessing a performance defined by artistry, authenticity, and live entertainment excellence.

The concert featured standout acts including ClayrocksU, celebrated as the Queen of AfroRock; Zadok, fondly called the Preacher of Love; Progress, winner of Nigerian Idol Season 7; and Jackson Supernova, acclaimed as the King of Blues. Jazz Priest, Lovesick, and Jarumi Jr. added further layers to the evening, creating a dynamic musical journey that captivated the crowd throughout the night.

Headliner Ochiora Okogeri, popularly known as The Country Man, commanded the stage for over two hours, blending original songs with classic country hits. Fans responded with repeated encores and sustained applause, reflecting a deep connection between artist and audience. Speaking on the event, he said, “Seeing everyone come together through music, culture, and storytelling reminds me why live experiences matter. This is just the beginning of something special.”

The production quality, visual storytelling, and overall atmosphere were widely praised. Notable attendees included Wessel De Haas, former Deputy Managing Director of Shell Petroleum Development Company, alongside celebrities and an international audience, underscoring the event’s broad cultural and global appeal.

Sponsors Bature Brewery Victoria Island and Laerry Blue Media supported the event, ensuring a seamless execution. A highlight of the night was the unveiling of a striking large-scale portrait by KodaNation, met with enthusiastic applause from attendees.

In closing, The Country Man confirmed that The Country Man Live will now be held annually each December, promising future editions that are even bigger, more immersive, and more engaging for fans. The debut has firmly positioned the event not merely as a concert but as a rising cultural institution, set to become a defining fixture in Nigeria’s entertainment and cultural calendar.
