Patience Ozokwor joins Jay-Jay Okocha and Super Eagles stars in Nike’s World Cup-inspired campaign

Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor has joined football icon Jay-Jay Okocha and current Nigeria national football team stars in Nike’s latest Nigeria-inspired 2026 football campaign created alongside British-Nigerian artist Olaolu Slawn. The campaign blends football, fashion, Nollywood, and street culture in a bold celebration of Nigerian identity.

The campaign, unveiled as part of Nike’s “Homecoming” and X2 ’26 collaboration series, features Ozokwor alongside Super Eagles players Samuel Chukwueze and Tolu Arokodare, with visuals showcasing graffiti-inspired jerseys, tracksuits, hoodies, and lifestyle pieces influenced by Slawn’s signature artistic style.

Fans across social media praised the inclusion of Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G, describing the collaboration as a powerful fusion of Nigerian football heritage, entertainment, fashion, and contemporary art. Industry observers say the campaign reflects Nike’s growing focus on culturally driven storytelling ahead of the 2026 global football season.

According to reports from Premium Times and BellaNaija, the collection was unveiled during the Homecoming Cup in Lagos, a cultural event founded by Grace Ladoja that combines music, art, fashion, and sport. Analysts say collaborations like this continue positioning Nigerian culture as a major force shaping global football fashion and youth culture.
