Burna Boy and Shakira’s Dai Dai Hits One Billion YouTube Views

Burna Boy and Shakira have reached another major global milestone after their 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem, “Dai Dai,” surpassed one billion views on YouTube. The official music video, published on Shakira’s YouTube channel, crossed the landmark in less than three months after its May release, becoming the first song released in 2026 to reach one billion views on the platform, as reported by People and Vanguard.

The collaboration brought together Burna Boy’s Afrobeats sound and Shakira’s Latin pop influence for the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The track gained enormous exposure through the tournament, including performances by both artists at the World Cup opening ceremony in Mexico City and during the final halftime show. It was also included on the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album alongside contributions from Nigerian stars Davido, Ayra Starr and Rema.

The song’s momentum has extended beyond YouTube. Spotify named “Dai Dai” among its biggest songs of summer 2026, reporting that it spent 37 days at No. 1 on its Global Chart and topped charts in 17 countries, while its music video became the platform’s most streamed video of the summer.

For Burna Boy, the billion view achievement further reinforces Afrobeats’ growing influence within global mainstream music and demonstrates the commercial power of collaborations that connect African sounds with major international audiences. For Shakira, “Dai Dai” becomes her 10th music video to surpass one billion YouTube views, while royalties from the song are set to support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
