Dangote Refinery Denies Shutdown, Confirms Steady 50 Million Litre Daily Supply

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has dismissed recent claims of a shutdown, confirming that operations remain stable with daily petrol supplies of up to 50 million litres to the Nigerian market. As reported by Freshangle, the refinery described the rumours as false and misleading.

In a statement, the refinery said it maintains the capacity to supply between 40 million and 50 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) daily, depending on market demand. On January 4, production reached 50 million litres, with 48 million litres evacuated via its gantry, ensuring stock levels that cover more than 20 days of national consumption. nairametrics highlights the refinery’s continued operational stability.

The statement clarified that routine maintenance on specific units does not disrupt overall production, as core processing units remain fully functional. The refinery also criticised misinformation in the market, suggesting some fuel traders cited unverified claims to justify recent price increases at private depots, as reported by Premium Times Nigeria

Officials reaffirmed their commitment to Nigeria’s energy security and market stability, urging consumers and marketers to rely on verified supply data rather than circulating rumours. According to Freshangle, the refinery continues to play a critical role in ensuring steady domestic fuel availability.
