Netflix sets June 5 global release for Blood Sisters Season 2 as original stars return

Blood Sisters will return globally on June 5, 2026, with Netflix confirming the comeback of its original cast alongside several new additions to the hit Nigerian drama series, according to ShockNG. The announcement marks the return of one of Netflix’s most successful African originals, nearly four years after the first season became a breakout international streaming success.

Original stars including Ini Dima-Okojie, Nancy Isime, Kate Henshaw, and Daniel Etim Effiong are set to reprise their roles, while producers have also introduced new cast members to expand the storyline and intensify the drama surrounding family power, betrayal, and survival. Netflix released teaser visuals and promotional materials ahead of the worldwide launch, according to entertainment media reports and the platform’s official announcements.

Produced by EbonyLife Studios in partnership with Netflix, Blood Sisters originally debuted in 2022 and quickly became one of the platform’s most-watched African productions, earning praise for its cinematic quality, suspense-driven storytelling, and strong female-led performances. Industry analysts say the show played a significant role in elevating Nollywood’s visibility on global streaming platforms.

The return of the series reflects Netflix’s continued investment in African storytelling despite broader restructuring across its international content strategy. Premium Times says Season 2 is expected to draw strong global viewership as demand for premium African original content continues to expand across international streaming audiences.
