VLC 2025 Ignites a New Era of Human-Centered Leadership Across Africa

From October 23rd to 25th, 2025, the Visionary Leadership Conference (VLC) convened influential leaders, innovators, policymakers, and changemakers from across Africa and around the world, both in Lagos, Nigeria, and virtually, for an extraordinary three-day experience that redefined what leadership can be in today’s complex world.

Hosted by IMMERSE Coaching Company and convened by Debola Deji-Kurunmi (DDK), the Visionary Leadership Conference has, since its inaugural edition in 2023, grown into a global leadership movement. It has now impacted over 1,000 leaders across three continents, fostering a community of visionaries who are committed to building people, transforming systems, and shaping economies.

This year’s theme, “Human-Centred Leadership: Transforming Talent, Building Economies in Complex Contexts,” set the stage for bold conversations on the future of leadership, placing people at the centre of vision, strategy, and execution.

Three Days of Depth, Insight, and Transformation

Over the course of three days, attendees immersed themselves in keynote speeches, leadership case studies, expert seminars, and interactive Communities of Practice (COPs), exploring how leaders can balance purpose and performance in rapidly evolving environments.

The conference opened with an exclusive Mentorship Masterclass led by Carolyn Buck Luce, creator of The Decade Game®, who guided participants through a transformative journey into clarity, reinvention, and strategic leadership.

Day two offered a rich blend of neuroscience, talent strategy, policy insight, and organisational culture.

Speakers such as Dr. Niyi Borire and Temi Dalley delivered frameworks for creating psychologically safe and people-first workplaces, while DDK’s Founder’s session grounded the entire experience in the true meaning of human-centered leadership. Participants further deepened their learning through the seven Communities of Practice, an interactive space that brought together founders, executives, culture builders, spiritual leaders, technologists, policy experts, and researchers to exchange ideas, collaborate, and explore solutions unique to their spheres of influence.

Day Three delivered compelling keynote addresses from Abubakar Suleiman, CEO of Sterling Finance Holdings Co., and Oyeyimika Adeboye, Managing Director of Cadbury Nigeria, whose insights illuminated how organisations can operationalize human-centred principles while driving excellence and innovation. The CEO Impact Panel amplified real-world examples of leadership that shift systems, strengthen institutions, and transform lives. Niyi Adesanya also delivered a high-performance leadership session, drawing a clear distinction between achievers and leaders while emphasizing that true leadership is always rooted in people. This was followed by an engaging panel session with Bankole Williams, Iphie Chucks-Adizue, and Kemi Onabanjo-Joseph, who shared practical insights on career transitions, influence-building, and leading with authenticity in complex and evolving environments.

Through every conversation, session, and connection, VLC 2025 reaffirmed one timeless truth: people are the true currency of nations and businesses. The future of leadership will not be built on systems alone, but on empathy, collaboration, and the courage to put humans at the heart of vision and innovation.

More details about the Conference, the Human Heroes Award Dinner that followed, the Awardees and the remarkable impact of their work, life and legacy can be found on the official VLC    Instagram page and across all IMMERSE Coaching Company social media platforms.
