Nneka Abulokwe is a British Nigerian technology and governance trailblazer whose career spans more than twenty-five years. She is widely recognized for her leadership in digital governance, board effectiveness and inclusive corporate strategy, and has become one of the most influential voices shaping modern technology oversight.
Born to a Nigerian father and Jamaican mother, Nneka spent her early years in Port Harcourt before returning to the United Kingdom for higher education. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Port Harcourt, followed by a Master’s degree from the University of London. She later completed a Doctorate in Business Administration at the Cranfield School of Management where her research focused on governance, technology and international business. Her strong academic foundation became the bedrock of a career that bridges strategic technology leadership and organizational transformation.

Nneka built her corporate experience across global technology and consulting firms, taking on senior leadership roles at organisations such as Sopra Steria and Atos. She led major portfolios in governance, cyber security, business assurance, risk and enterprise transformation, guiding multinational companies through complex digital environments and organisational change. In 2017, she founded MicroMax Consulting, a specialist advisory firm that supports boards and executives in applying technology and governance as strategic enablers. Through this practice she has advised clients across sectors on digital maturity, ethical transformation and inclusive leadership.
Her influence extends across several prestigious board positions. Nneka serves as an independent non executive director on the board of Capita where she contributes her expertise across the Audit, Risk, Remuneration and Nomination committees. She is also a non executive director at Davies Group, an external member of the Audit and Risk Committee at the University of Cambridge and an adviser to institutions such as the Cranfield School of Management. Through these roles she shapes governance, oversight and responsible innovation at the highest levels of decision making.
Nneka’s work has earned international recognition. In 2019 she was honoured with the Officer of the Order of the British Empire for her services to business. She has been featured in the Financial Times Top One Hundred BAME Tech Leaders and the UK Powerlist of influential Black business professionals. Her advocacy for diversity, inclusion and equitable digital cultures is reflected in her involvement with organisations such as ISACA, the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women and DoGood Africa, where she mentors and supports emerging leaders.
