Meet Dr. Olori Boye-Ajayi The Trade Strategist Connecting African Businesses to Global Opportunities

Dr. Olori Boye-Ajayi is a Nigerian trade strategist, investment expert, author, transformational coach, and development leader who has emerged as one of Africa’s foremost advocates for cross-border commerce and women-led enterprise. As the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Borderless Trade & Investments and the Founder of the Borderless Trade Network, she has dedicated her career to dismantling barriers to African trade, mobilising investment, and creating sustainable opportunities for entrepreneurs across the continent. Her work continues to shape Africa’s trade ecosystem by connecting businesses with markets, finance, and strategic partnerships.

With nearly 15 years of experience spanning international trade, investment promotion, development finance, and women’s economic empowerment, Dr. Boye-Ajayi has built an impressive record of driving inclusive growth across Africa. Through Borderless Trade & Investments, she has led initiatives that have empowered more than 100,000 African entrepreneurs, facilitated access to regional and international markets, and structured over €500 million in development finance. She has also helped secure more than US$3 million in funding for women-led small and medium-sized enterprises, reinforcing her commitment to expanding economic opportunities for underserved businesses.

Her influence extends into continental policymaking. Dr. Boye-Ajayi serves as a Member of the AfCFTA Trade and Industrial Development Advisory Council, where she contributes to strategies supporting the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). She is also a Board Member of Made in Nigeria Commodities Export, advising on initiatives that strengthen export competitiveness and promote African products in global markets. Her expertise has made her a trusted advisor to governments, multilateral institutions, and international development organisations seeking to accelerate Africa’s industrialisation and trade integration.

A respected educator and thought leader, Dr. Boye-Ajayi has served as a Guest Lecturer at Lagos Business School, teaching International Trade to Executive MBA participants, and has partnered with global institutions including the U.S. State Department’s Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE), Afreximbank, SMEDAN, ECOWAS Parliament, and other development partners to deliver capacity-building programmes for entrepreneurs across Africa. Her recently launched Training-to-Transaction (T2T) Market Access Programme focuses on helping African SMEs move beyond training to real export opportunities by providing guidance on trade compliance, buyer access, and trade finance.

Her outstanding contributions have earned widespread recognition both in Africa and internationally. She was honoured with the African Achievers Award for Excellence in Trade and Investment at the Palace of Westminster, United Kingdom, named International Woman of the Year at the Women4Africa Awards UK, recognised among the Top 100 Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) in 2024, listed among the Top 50 Inspiring Women in Nigeria, and featured in the Top 100 Inspiring Women in Africa by Leading Ladies Africa. She was also the first female Afreximbank MANSA Ambassador in Nigeria, further highlighting her pioneering role in advancing African trade.

Beyond business and policy, Dr. Boye-Ajayi is an accomplished author and transformational coach whose work focuses on leadership, purpose, entrepreneurship, and personal development. She is also the Servant Leader of The Secret Garden Global, an international faith-based movement committed to leadership development, discipleship, and community transformation. Her unique ability to combine strategic thinking, economic development, and values-driven leadership has positioned her as one of Africa’s most respected voices on trade and sustainable growth.

Today, Dr. Olori Boye-Ajayi continues to champion a future where African businesses compete confidently on the global stage. Through Borderless Trade & Investments, her policy work, executive coaching, and entrepreneurial initiatives, she is helping shape a more connected, prosperous, and globally competitive Africa, one entrepreneur, one business, and one trade opportunity at a time.
