Justin Bieber and Burna Boy Join Historic FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show

Global music stars Justin Bieber and Burna Boy have joined the lineup for the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show, taking place during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final on July 19 at New York New Jersey Stadium. According to FIFA and The New York Times, the pair will perform alongside previously announced headliners Madonna, Shakira, and BTS, as FIFA introduces a Super Bowl-style halftime spectacle designed to elevate the cultural impact of football’s biggest event.

The historic 11-minute performance will be curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay and will also feature Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus, and special appearances by Coldplay, Sesame Street, and The Muppets. Burna Boy is expected to perform “Dai Dai,” the official 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem recorded with Shakira, while Justin Bieber joins the event as a co-headliner in what FIFA expects to become one of the most-watched musical performances in history. The halftime show will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million to expand access to education and football opportunities for children worldwide. More than $50 million has already been raised, including $1 from every World Cup match ticket sold.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the event as a landmark celebration of football, music, and global unity, while Burna Boy said representing Africa on the inaugural World Cup Final Halftime Show is both “a privilege and a responsibility.” Justin Bieber also expressed pride in participating in an event that combines entertainment with a meaningful social impact. The initiative reflects FIFA’s ambition to broaden the World Cup’s cultural influence beyond the pitch and create a global entertainment experience comparable to the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

The introduction of a halftime show marks one of the most significant innovations in FIFA World Cup history, bringing together some of the world’s biggest music stars on a stage expected to reach billions of viewers. For Burna Boy, the appearance further reinforces Afrobeats’ growing global prominence, while Justin Bieber’s addition strengthens an already star-studded lineup that underscores football’s expanding role as a global entertainment platform.
