Dr. Divine Ndhlukula: Building Legacies Through Business and Education in Zimbabwe

In Zimbabwe’s capital of Harare, where glass towers meet the grit of resilience, Dr. Divine Ndhlukula stands tall as a symbol of possibility. A pioneering entrepreneur, founder of SECURICO, and passionate advocate for youth education, she has not only shattered gender norms in a male-dominated industry but also reshaped the narrative of African leadership.

With a business acumen rooted in discipline and a heart for empowering the next generation, Divine’s legacy is unfolding in both boardrooms and classrooms.

From Rural Roots to National Leader

Born in the rural district of Gutu, Dr. Ndhlukula’s story began like that of many Zimbabwean girls amid social expectations and limited resources. But armed with determination and a vision beyond her circumstances, she pursued her education rigorously, eventually earning an MBA and later a PhD in Business Leadership.

Her early career included a stint at the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation and the insurance industry, but she soon grew restless with the status quo. What followed was one of Zimbabwe’s most impressive entrepreneurial ascents.

SECURICO: Redefining Private Security in Africa

In 1998, Dr. Ndhlukula founded SECURICO, Zimbabwe’s first ISO-certified security company, starting from a single desk in her cottage. At a time when the industry was male-dominated and riddled with inefficiency, her entry was nothing short of revolutionary.

Today, SECURICO is a multimillion-dollar enterprise employing over 4,000 people, 70% of whom are women and delivering services that span manned guarding, electronic surveillance, and risk assessment across Southern Africa.

Her model didn’t just improve security standards; it created dignified work and set a new precedent for corporate governance and gender inclusion.

Empowering Through Education

But Dr. Ndhlukula’s impact doesn’t end in the private sector. Deeply passionate about education, she established the Mbuya Mary Foundation, named after her mother, to support disadvantaged rural students, especially girls, with scholarships, mentorship, and resources.

She is also a major force behind the Empretec Zimbabwe Foundation, a United Nations-backed entrepreneurship program that has trained thousands of Zimbabwean youth in leadership, financial literacy, and innovation.

A Role Model for Africa’s Next Generation

Recognized globally, by Forbes, the World Economic Forum, and multiple international awards Dr. Ndhlukula is frequently invited to speak on inclusive business models and women’s economic empowerment.

She uses every platform to push for access to education, enterprise equity, and the need to groom the next generation of African business leaders.

Legacy in the Making

Divine’s journey is not just about entrepreneurship, it’s about what’s possible when one dares to build, uplift, and lead with vision. From village to venture capital, from adversity to acclaim, she remains proof that African excellence is homegrown and globally relevant.

With grace, grit, and a blueprint for progress, Dr. Divine Ndhlukula continues to transform Zimbabwe’s entrepreneurial and educational landscape, one empowered life at a time.
