Industrialist Aliko Dangote has offered employment opportunities to first class graduates in Engineering and Sciences from Lagos State University (LASU), creating a direct pathway from academic excellence to careers within the Dangote Group, according to The Cable and Pulse. The offer was announced during LASU’s 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremonies, with eligible graduates to be considered after completing their National Youth Service Corps programme.
The initiative comes as LASU celebrates 494 first class graduates from the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions. The university produced 20,604 graduates across various programmes, highlighting the scale of the institution’s latest graduating cohorts.
Beyond employment, Dangote, through the Aliko Dangote Foundation, also pledged ₦600 million towards the construction of a female students’ hostel at LASU. The commitments were made as Dangote was honoured by the university with an Honorary Doctor of Business degree for his contributions to entrepreneurship, industrial development and human capital.
The employment offer reinforces the growing push to connect university education with industry opportunities. For LASU graduates, particularly those in technical disciplines, the initiative provides a potential route into one of Africa’s largest industrial groups while giving the private sector a stronger role in developing Nigeria’s next generation of skilled professionals.
