Alma Asinobi Redefining Global Travel and Challenging Passport Inequality

Alma Asinobi is a Nigerian travel content creator, entrepreneur, and founder of Kaijego, a travel and tourism platform focused on enabling global exploration. Through her bold adventures and advocacy, Alma has emerged as one of Africa’s most compelling voices in modern travel, using her platform to challenge systemic barriers and reshape how the world perceives African travelers.

Alma Asinobi’s journey is rooted in curiosity and a desire to explore beyond borders. Trained as an architect with both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from Covenant University, she transitioned from architecture into travel and storytelling, building a career that blends content creation, strategy, and entrepreneurship. Her passion for travel, which fully developed around 2020, quickly evolved into a mission to experience diverse cultures while documenting the realities of traveling with a Nigerian passport.

At the core of Alma Asinobi’s impact is her bold approach to storytelling through experience. In March 2025, she undertook a historic attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest journey across all seven continents using only a Nigerian passport. The journey, tagged #AlmaChasingContinents, saw her travel across Antarctica, South America, North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia, completing the expedition in 71 hours despite visa delays and travel restrictions. Her attempt sparked global conversations about passport inequality and the limitations faced by travelers from developing nations.

Alma Asinobi’s influence extends beyond travel into advocacy and cultural representation. Through her content, she highlights the realities of visa barriers, mobility restrictions, and the broader inequalities within global travel systems. Her work has positioned her as a voice for a new generation of African travelers determined to challenge limitations and expand access. Her journey has resonated widely, inspiring conversations around identity, access, and the power of persistence in the face of systemic challenges.

Looking ahead, Alma Asinobi remains focused on building platforms that empower more Africans to explore the world while continuing to advocate for fairer travel systems. Her vision is rooted in breaking barriers, changing narratives, and proving that ambition can transcend structural limitations. Through courage, storytelling, and purpose driven exploration, Alma Asinobi is redefining what global travel means for Africa and beyond.
