Access Bank Targets Trade Reset with ATC 2026

Access Bank Plc is positioning the Africa Trade Conference 2026 (ATC 2026) as a catalyst for resetting Africa’s trade engagement with the global economy, with a strong focus on accelerating intra African commerce. The second edition of the conference is scheduled to hold on 11 March 2026 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in South Africa, following the success of its inaugural edition in 2025, as highlighted in reports by APA News.

The bank’s Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Roosevelt Ogbonna, described the conference as a results driven platform aimed at moving beyond dialogue to real economic outcomes. “ATC 2026 is about turning strategic intent into measurable action that strengthens Africa’s trade ecosystem and positions the continent as a serious global trade partner,” Ogbonna said, as cited in reporting by The Punch.

Organised under the theme “Turning Vision into Velocity: Building Africa’s Trade Ecosystem for Real World Impact,” the conference is expected to convene policymakers, development finance institutions, multinational corporations, investors, and African business leaders. The programme will focus on practical solutions across policy alignment, trade finance, logistics, infrastructure, and technology driven commerce.

A central pillar of ATC 2026 will be advancing the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area, with discussions centred on market access, digitisation, sustainable trade practices, and financing mechanisms that support small and medium sized enterprises. Through the conference, Access Bank aims to reinforce Africa’s transition from fragmented markets to an integrated trade bloc capable of competing on a global scale.
