Alaysha Johnson Wins First ATHLOS London 100m Hurdles Title

American hurdler Alaysha Johnson became the first ATHLOS London champion in the women’s 100m hurdles after edging Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan by one hundredth of a second at StoneX Stadium on September 18, according to jumpers world. Johnson clocked 12.50 seconds with a legal tailwind of 1.2 metres per second, while Amusan finished in 12.51 seconds. World Athletics’ official results confirmed Johnson as the inaugural winner of the event as ATHLOS made its international debut in London following its first two editions in New York.

The race produced one of the closest finishes of the meeting, with Bahamas’ Devynne Charlton and Jamaica’s Danielle Williams both recording 12.63 seconds to take third and fourth respectively. For Amusan, the result brought her 2026 season to a close with a second place finish, while Johnson secured the first ATHLOS 100m hurdles crown and continued a campaign in which she competed in her 40th race of the year, according to reports from Punch and LetsRun. Amusan also earned $35,000 for finishing runner up under ATHLOS’ prize structure.

Johnson’s victory also adds another chapter to the development of ATHLOS, the women’s track and field series founded by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. The London meeting featured seven events and brought several of the sport’s leading athletes together, with winners receiving $65,000 and a custom Tiffany & Co crown. Reuters described the London edition as ATHLOS’ first competition outside the United States, reflecting the series’ ambition to build a global platform for elite women’s athletics.
