Davido Set to Headline FIFA World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert in Los Angeles

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has been announced as one of the headline performers for FIFA’s World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert in Los Angeles, further cementing Africa’s growing influence on the global music stage, according to ChannelsTv and The Nation. The event, scheduled for June 10 at Crypto.com Arena, forms part of FIFA’s official countdown celebrations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

FIFA confirmed that Davido will perform alongside Major Lazer, the globally acclaimed music project led by Diplo, during the United States leg of a first-of-its-kind synchronized concert series connecting audiences across the tournament’s three host nations: the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

According to FIFA, the Los Angeles concert is designed as a high-energy celebration of football, music, and culture, bringing together fans from around the world one year before the tournament kicks off. The event will be broadcast globally through FIFA’s digital platforms, including a livestream on TikTok.

Davido’s selection for the landmark event underscores the continued rise of Afrobeats as a global cultural force. Industry observers say his appearance on one of FIFA’s biggest entertainment stages reflects the growing international demand for African music and its increasing role in major global sporting and cultural events.
