Twelfth Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development to Convene in Addis Ababa

The Twelfth Session of the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (ARFSD 2026) will be held from 28 to 30 April 2026 at the United Nations Conference Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The forum provides a high-level platform for African governments, development partners, civil society, and stakeholders to assess progress, share experiences, and advance coordinated actions toward the continent’s sustainable development priorities.

Held under the theme “Turning the Tide: Transformative and Coordinated Actions for the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063,” ARFSD 2026 will focus on accelerating the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063. The session aims to identify practical solutions, foster partnerships, and promote strategies that address emerging challenges while reinforcing Africa’s path toward inclusive and sustainable growth.

The forum serves as a key mechanism for integrated follow-up and review, enabling countries to track progress, exchange best practices, and mobilize resources for the achievement of shared development objectives. It also facilitates dialogue between governments, regional institutions, and international partners to ensure that Africa’s sustainable development priorities are aligned with global commitments.

ARFSD 2026 is expected to catalyze transformative action across the continent by promoting policy coherence, coordinated implementation, and innovative approaches to tackling Africa’s economic, social, and environmental challenges. The forum reinforces Africa’s commitment to shaping its development trajectory in alignment with both the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want.
