Tinubu assures Nigerians of economic recovery in Eid-el-Kabir message

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that better days are ahead as the country marks the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, urging citizens to remain united and hopeful despite ongoing economic challenges. In his Sallah message, the Nigerian president called for patience, national solidarity, and shared sacrifice as his administration continues implementing economic and governance reforms.

According to statements released by the Presidency and reported by The Guardian and Punch, Tinubu said the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir reflects values of faith, compassion, sacrifice, and collective responsibility, adding that Nigerians must continue working together to strengthen peace and national progress. He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving economic conditions, security, and social welfare.

Nigeria has faced rising inflation, currency volatility, and cost-of-living pressures following major economic reforms including fuel subsidy removal and foreign exchange market adjustments. Analysts say the government has increasingly emphasised long-term economic restructuring while seeking to reassure citizens over the impact of current hardships.

Political observers note that Eid-el-Kabir messages from Nigerian leaders often serve as moments for national reflection and unity, particularly during periods of economic and social pressure. They add that Tinubu’s remarks highlight ongoing efforts by the government to maintain public confidence while pursuing broader fiscal and economic reforms.
