Nelly Agbogu’s Rising Influence in Africa’s Entrepreneurial Economy

Nelly Agbogu, widely recognized as NaijaBrandChick, has become one of the most impactful voices in Nigeria’s growing SME and digital commerce landscape. Her work sits at the intersection of entrepreneurship, visibility, and community building, and her influence continues to shape how small businesses position themselves for growth in today’s competitive market. With a career spanning more than fifteen years across oil and gas, FMCG, and trade facilitation, she has developed a work style grounded in real experience and a commitment to helping others succeed.

Her journey into enterprise began with a deeply personal need. As she recounted in an interview with BusinessDay, managing her son’s gluten-free diet prompted her to create healthier food alternatives at home. What started as experimentation in her kitchen eventually evolved into Come Again Foods, previously known as Nellies Nigeria. The company is now known for its locally sourced snacks that promote healthier lifestyles, including pumpkin leaf chips, cassava biscuits, and almond treats. According to BusinessDay, this brand was born from her determination and became the foundation of a broader entrepreneurial mission.

While her food company grew, Nelly recognized another gap that needed attention. Many entrepreneurs lacked visibility, structure, and the marketing insights needed to scale. In response, she built NaijaBrandChick, a brand that would quickly rise to become one of Africa’s most influential platforms for small business growth. Through this platform, she mentors business owners, teaches digital sales strategies, and helps entrepreneurs reposition themselves for national and international opportunities. Through Her Network, it was reported that her signature event, the NBC Trade Fair, has generated more than six million dollars in vendor revenue and expanded from Lagos to international audiences, including London. This achievement reflects her ability to create economic pathways for others while strengthening her own influence as a business strategist.

Her work has also attracted meaningful recognition. She received a nomination for Entrepreneur of the Year at the MOI Awards, and ThisDayLive included her in the list of the 100 Most Promising Women SMEs, highlighting her leadership in shaping Nigeria’s small business sector. These acknowledgments reinforce her reputation as a woman who not only excels in her ventures but also enables others to grow through hers.

Beyond entrepreneurship and visibility, Nelly has expanded her impact into advocacy and policy engagement. As a director at the Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists, she contributes to national conversations around SME support, digital transformation, and access to markets. Her vision for business education is further reinforced through her Dominate Sales and Influence program, a platform designed to help entrepreneurs acquire sales mastery and use digital tools more effectively. A feature by WRAL emphasised how she continues to position African businesses for global competitiveness through training, visibility, and community-building.

Nelly Agbogu’s journey is a powerful reminder that entrepreneurship is not only about building a successful brand. It is also about building systems that others can rise through. Her work continues to inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs who see possibility in their ideas and hope in the communities she has built.
