Namibia, Africa’s leading uranium producer, has unveiled a new high-grade critical mineral site, reinforcing its position as a key player in the global energy and technology supply chain.
The discovery was made by Australian-listed Askari Metals at its Uis Project, where early exploration results confirmed extensive polymetallic mineralisation, including high-grade lithium, tin, tantalum, and rubidium, according to CediRates.
These minerals are considered critical due to their role in electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, and advanced electronics, placing Namibia at the centre of the global race to secure supply chains for clean energy technologies .
The development comes as Namibia continues to expand its mining sector, already one of the world’s top uranium producers, benefiting from rising global demand for nuclear and green energy resources, Reuters reported.
