Leapmotor Chases 1 Million 2026 Deliveries as New Models and Overseas Expansion Accelerate

Chinese electric vehicle maker Leapmotor is maintaining its ambitious target of 1 million vehicle deliveries in 2026, betting on new model launches and rapidly expanding exports to close the gap, according to Reuters. The company delivered 356,487 vehicles in the first half of the year, up 60.8% from a year earlier, and recorded a further 101,267 deliveries in July, its first month above 100,000 units.

International markets are becoming an increasingly important growth engine. Leapmotor exported 96,294 vehicles in the first half, a 372.6% year on year increase, representing 27% of total first half sales. By July, cumulative exports for the year had reached 113,863 units, as the company expanded its presence across more than 40 markets through its partnership with Stellantis.

The company is also expanding its product portfolio to support the sales push. New and updated models include the A10, B10, B01 and Lafa 5, while Leapmotor is developing a second brand aimed at higher priced vehicles. Its Indonesian expansion has also added local assembly capacity, with the B10 and C10 among the first models being produced there.

Reaching one million deliveries would require Leapmotor to dramatically accelerate its second half performance, after achieving only 35.6% of the annual target by June. However, July’s record month and the sharp increase in exports provide evidence that the company is gaining momentum. The push highlights the increasingly global ambitions of Chinese EV manufacturers as they look beyond their domestic market for their next phase of growth.
