Burna Boy and Shakira unite for official FIFA 2026 anthem “Dai Dai”

Burna Boy and Shakira have collaborated on the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, titled “Dai Dai,” marking a major global crossover between Afrobeats and Latin pop. The anthem, announced in May 2026, is scheduled for release on May 14 ahead of the tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, as reported by AP News.

The announcement was made through a teaser video filmed at the iconic Maracanã Stadium, where Shakira previewed the track alongside visuals celebrating football culture and participating nations. The song blends energetic Afrobeats rhythms with Shakira’s signature global pop sound, continuing FIFA’s tradition of internationally themed tournament anthems.

For Burna Boy, the collaboration represents another milestone in the global rise of Afrobeats, placing a Nigerian artist at the centre of one of the world’s biggest sporting events. ChannelsTv says the partnership reflects the growing influence of African music in mainstream global entertainment and sports culture.

Shakira, who previously delivered iconic World Cup songs including “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” in 2010 and “La La La (Brazil 2014)”, returns once again to the FIFA stage. Fans and music commentators have described the collaboration as a symbolic fusion of global music cultures ahead of what FIFA expects to be its biggest-ever World Cup tournament.
