BNXN and Sarz Win AFRIMMA 2026 Song of the Year With Back Outside

Nigerian singer BNXN and acclaimed producer Sarz have won Song of the Year at the AFRIMMA 2026 Awards for their collaboration, Back Outside, adding another major international recognition to Nigeria’s growing Afrobeats influence. The award was presented at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards in Dallas, Texas, on September 12, as AFRIMMA returned after a two year hiatus. According to Channels Television, Nigeria secured several major wins at this year’s ceremony, with BNXN and Sarz among the leading Nigerian recipients.

Back Outside is part of the collaborative work between BNXN and Sarz and has emerged as one of the Nigerian music industry’s notable releases of 2026. The AFRIMMA Song of the Year award recognises the record’s reach and impact within the African music landscape, further highlighting the growing international visibility of Nigerian Afrobeats. BNXN, formerly known as Buju, has established himself as one of Nigeria’s prominent contemporary singers, while Sarz has built a reputation as one of the country’s influential music producers, with collaborations spanning some of Africa’s biggest artistes.

The win also forms part of a strong night for Nigerian music at AFRIMMA 2026, with Davido, Tems, Phyno, Ruger and other Nigerian artistes taking home awards across multiple categories. The ceremony’s return to Dallas, following a two year break, underscores AFRIMMA’s role in providing an international platform for African music and creative talent. For BNXN and Sarz, the Back Outside victory adds another international milestone to their careers while reinforcing the commercial and cultural reach of Nigerian Afrobeats across global audiences.
