Debola Deji-Kurunmi Raising a New Breed of African Innovators and Leaders

In a world eager for transformative leadership, Debola Deji-Kurunmi, popularly known as DDK, has emerged as one of Africa’s most dynamic voices for personal transformation, visionary leadership, and social impact. A coach, author, minister, and development strategist, Debola is united by a singular mission: to unlock human potential and equip others to lead meaningful change.

Born in 1984 into the royal family of Ogoga in Ikere-Ekiti, Nigeria, Debola’s early life carried the weight of heritage. Yet she chose a path defined not by privilege, but by service. She studied Estate Management at Obafemi Awolowo University, but her true calling revealed itself in coaching, leadership development, and ministry. Even during her university days, she demonstrated remarkable clarity of purpose, founding initiatives that combined faith, mentorship, and leadership training. Over the years, this vision has grown into global movements that have touched thousands of lives across Africa and beyond.

Debola’s work is anchored in three key platforms. IMMERSE Coaching Company is her personal transformation enterprise, designed to help individuals discover purpose, scale influence, and create lasting change. Through immersive coaching experiences, the platform has nurtured a generation of bold, purposeful leaders. Ideation Hub Africa is a social-profit accelerator equipping non-profits, social innovators, and development practitioners with skills, tools, and networks to design sustainable solutions. It has become a trusted space for Africa’s rising social sector leaders. Her ministry platforms, Kingdom Leaders Global Alliance (KLGA) and the FIREBRAND Movement, focus on raising spiritually grounded leaders who transform society through both character and competence. Across these platforms, Debola has authored over 20 books on faith, leadership, personal mastery, and transformational living.

Her influence has extended to global recognition. In 2014, she was named a New Leader for Tomorrow at the Crans Montana Forum in Geneva. Four years later, she was selected as a Mandela Washington Fellow, a prestigious U.S. program for exceptional young African leaders. She has also been listed among Nigeria’s 100 Most Inspiring Women, cementing her reputation as a thought leader and mentor of consequence. Her speaking engagements span boardrooms, conferences, and faith gatherings, consistently delivering the message that Africa’s future depends on leaders who are visionary, values-driven, and committed to service.

At the core of Debola’s work is a belief that true leadership begins with transformation from the inside out. She teaches that mindsets shape destinies, and that once people are equipped to think differently, they can act differently and ultimately build differently. Her coaching style merges practical strategy with spiritual insight, allowing her to be effective across both secular and faith-based spaces. This philosophy resonates particularly with women and young leaders, many of whom credit her guidance with helping them discover purpose and scale their impact.

Through her vision, platforms, and personal example, Debola Deji-Kurunmi is cultivating a new generation of African innovators and leaders, demonstrating that transformative leadership is grounded in purpose, service, and unwavering commitment to human potential.
