Samke holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Cape Town, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from Wits Business School, and an MBA from the same institution. Her research focused on factors contributing to over-indebtedness among black South African women, a subject that continues to inform her work in financial education and advocacy.

Through The Next Chapter Wealth Partners, Samke has worked with corporate clients including Standard Bank and Anglo American, delivering financial wellness workshops, personal finance guidance, and wealth-building programs. She has empowered professionals, entrepreneurs, and everyday individuals to take control of their finances and make informed, strategic decisions.

Beyond her consultancy work, Samke has established herself as a prominent media commentator on financial issues. She regularly appears on channels such as CNBC Africa and eNCA and contributes to radio programs on Metro FM and Talk Radio 702. She also serves as a finance columnist for BONA Magazine, using these platforms to share advice on financial planning, savings, and investment strategies.

Samke’s influence has been recognized internationally. She was listed among the top 100 most influential people of African descent by MIPAD in 2018 and was featured as one of the Top 50 Black African Women Entrepreneurs to Watch by Entrepreneur Magazine in the same year. She has also served as a “Play Your Part” Ambassador for Brand South Africa, highlighting her commitment to entrepreneurship and social responsibility.

In 2022, she published Ringfence, a novel-style book designed to teach financial literacy, wealth creation, and legal awareness, particularly for African women. She further demonstrated her dedication to education by reading the book to children at a Soweto home during International Literacy Day.

Samke also serves on the board of MINTEK, South Africa’s mineral research and technology agency, where she contributes her expertise as the youngest member of the Audit and Risk Committee. Her leadership in both corporate and public spaces reflects a holistic approach to impact, combining financial acumen, governance experience, and a dedication to empowering others.

Through her consultancy, media presence, public speaking, and published work, Samke S. Mhlongo continues to redefine financial literacy in Africa, proving that wealth is not only about income but about knowledge, strategic planning, and purposeful action. She remains a guiding force for individuals and entrepreneurs seeking clarity, confidence, and empowerment in managing their financial futures.
