Busola Tejumola Elevating African Entertainment Through Vision and Strategy

Dr. Busola Tejumola has established herself as a transformative force in African media, combining strategic insight, creative vision, and a deep understanding of audiences to shape storytelling across the continent. In May 2025, she was appointed Executive Head of General Entertainment Channels at MultiChoice Group, overseeing DStv and GOtv entertainment offerings across multiple African markets. This role places her at the forefront of content strategy, ensuring African narratives reach audiences with both cultural authenticity and global resonance.

Dr. Tejumola began her career at MultiChoice in 2012 as a Consumer Insights Manager. She quickly advanced into leadership, taking on strategic roles and eventually serving as General Manager of Production for Africa Magic. In these capacities, she has overseen flagship programming, including the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, positioning content to resonate with audiences across the continent.

Her educational background complements her professional expertise. She holds a PhD in Management Information Systems from Brunel University, an MSc in Management Information Systems from the University of Surrey, and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Ibadan. This foundation enables her to integrate data-driven decision-making with creative strategy, enhancing the impact and reach of African programming.

In 2023, Dr. Tejumola was elected as a member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the organization responsible for the International Emmy Awards. This recognition underscores her influence on the global stage and highlights the international relevance of her work.

Beyond her executive responsibilities, she actively engages with the creative community. In March 2025, she was a featured speaker at the Nollywood Studies Centre Filmmakers’ Forum, sharing insights on how data and cultural authenticity can guide content development that resonates with audiences.
