African Food & Drinks Festival 2025: A Grand Celebration of Africa’s Flavor, Culture, and Unity

The African Food Network is set to host the Grand Festival Celebration of the African Food & Drinks Festival (AFDF) 2025 on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Harrow Park, Abuja, marking five years of promoting African cuisine, culture, and community.

This year’s festival is themed “Five Years. One Continent. Endless Flavor.” It represents a major milestone in the journey to unite Africa through food and culture. The event will gather thousands of food enthusiasts, chefs, vendors, and cultural performers from across the continent in one of the most vibrant celebrations of African identity.

The Grand Festival Celebration will serve as the culmination of the three-day African Food & Drinks Festival, which begins with the African Food Summit & Expo on November 14 and continues with the United by Food Tour and Cultural Night on November 15. Together, these events form a cultural, intellectual, and experiential showcase of Africa’s food ecosystem.

According to Maria Olanrewaju, Executive Secretary of the African Food Network, the 2025 festival is both a celebration and a call to action.

“This fifth edition is special. It is not just about food; it is about unity, creativity, and progress. We want Africans to see that our food is more than what we eat; it is who we are. Through it, we can build stronger communities and a stronger continent,” said Eze.

The Grand Festival Celebration will feature:

Over 100 food and drink vendors from Nigeria and other African countries.

●The Unity Dish Experience, where guests share a continental meal symbolizing African togetherness.

●Live performances from traditional and contemporary African artists.

●Chef showcases, cultural parades, and culinary competitions.

●Family-friendly zones, games, and lifestyle exhibitions.

This year’s event also deepens AFN’s United by Food Campaign, a long-term initiative focused on promoting cross-cultural understanding and pan-African collaboration through food.

The campaign has already received strong support from institutions, influencers, and chefs across multiple African countries.

“What began as a small idea in Abuja has now become one of Africa’s biggest platforms for food and culture,” added Eze. “This festival is proof that food can bring people together in ways politics or policy cannot.”

Since its debut in 2021, the African Food & Drinks Festival has hosted over 25,000 attendees across Nigeria and Ghana, featuring chefs, entrepreneurs, and cultural icons. The 2025 Abuja edition is expected to draw the largest crowd yet, as the festival continues to position African cuisine on the global stage.

The African Food and Drinks Festival 2025 is proudly sponsored by Kuda Microfinance Bank (Headline Sponsor), alongside Sensation & Elixir Plus, Malta Guiness, Imperial Blue, and other distinguished partners.
