Nigerian comedian, actor and writer Bovi Ugboma is set to conclude his 2026 world tour with the Lagos finale of his stand-up production, Bovi: Guilty as Charged, on Sunday, October 11, at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island. The show follows an international run that included a performance at Indigo at The O2 in the United Kingdom and six Canadian cities, where all six Canadian dates reportedly sold out. According to THISDAY and The Guardian Nigeria, the Lagos performance marks the final stop of the tour following its Nigerian leg, which began in Benin City earlier in October. Doors are scheduled to open at 6 p.m., with the show running from 7 p.m. to approximately 10 p.m. The event marks Bovi’s return to the Lagos stage with a new comedy special after an extended period without a major show in the city.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the event, Bovi explained that Guilty as Charged takes an observational and accusatory look at human behaviour, public affairs and everyday experiences. In an interview reported by The Punch, the comedian said the material would draw from events and conversations over the past year, while maintaining a balance between sharp humour and personal insults. He also explained that his headline productions are designed to centre on his own storytelling, although he plans to feature emerging comedians as opening acts. Bovi has additionally teased a surprise appearance by an established Nigerian comedian, whose identity he has kept undisclosed. The show will introduce designated seating across the venue, allowing ticket holders to select their seats when booking, an arrangement previously highlighted by Brand Communicator as a new feature for his headline performances.

The Lagos finale represents another milestone in Bovi’s nearly two-decade career in Nigerian entertainment, which spans stand-up comedy, television and film. Productions such as Bovi: Man on Fire and Naughty by Nature have helped establish his reputation for observational humour and storytelling that draws from relationships, popular culture and social realities. According to BusinessDay, the comedian has emphasised the importance of delivering value to audiences who pay to attend his shows, while acknowledging the role of corporate and private sponsors in sustaining large-scale comedy productions. With Guilty as Charged, Bovi is bringing material shaped by his international tour back to a home audience, while also creating a platform for younger comic talent. The October 11 performance is expected to bring the tour to a close in Lagos, reinforcing the city’s role as a major market for live comedy and entertainment in Nigeria.
