Chanel has appointed Hélène de Tissot, a veteran finance executive from global spirits company Pernod Ricard, as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), strengthening the luxury fashion house’s executive leadership as it continues to expand its global business. According to WWD, de Tissot will join Chanel in October 2026 and officially assume the CFO role in January 2027, succeeding Philippe Blondiaux, who is retiring after serving as the company’s finance chief since 2015. She will report directly to Chief Executive Leena Nair.
De Tissot brings more than two decades of financial leadership experience from Pernod Ricard, where she most recently served as Executive Vice President for Finance and Technology and sat on the company’s executive committee. During her tenure, she led financial strategy, technology transformation, and digital investments across one of the world’s largest premium spirits producers. She also previously held senior finance roles in Asia, including serving as Chief Financial Officer for Pernod Ricard’s operations in the region, giving her extensive experience managing complex international markets.
The appointment comes as Chanel continues investing in long-term growth through retail expansion, digital innovation, sustainability initiatives, and supply chain resilience. The privately owned luxury brand has maintained strong financial performance despite a slowdown in the global luxury market, supported by continued demand for its fashion, beauty, jewellery, and accessories businesses. Pernod Ricard has announced that Mauve Croizat will succeed de Tissot as its Executive Vice President for Finance and Technology later this year.
For Chanel, the appointment signals a continued focus on disciplined financial management as the company navigates changing consumer trends and increasing competition in the global luxury industry. Analysts say de Tissot’s experience leading finance and technology transformation at a multinational consumer goods company positions her well to support Chanel’s next phase of international expansion while strengthening operational efficiency and long-term profitability.
