Chantelle Abdul Powering Africa’s Energy Infrastructure and Industrial Growth

Chantelle Abdul is the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mojec International Holdings, one of Africa’s leading energy engineering and smart metering companies. As a transformative business leader, Chantelle has positioned Mojec as a dominant force in the power sector, driving large scale electricity metering, energy management, and infrastructure development across Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. Her leadership reflects a strong commitment to solving one of Africa’s most critical challenges, access to reliable and measurable power.

Chantelle’s journey is defined by strategic vision and global exposure. Educated in the United States and United Kingdom, she built early career experience in international finance and advisory, including roles at Morgan Stanley and Salomon Smith Barney, before taking the helm of her family business. Since assuming leadership in 2012, she has transformed Mojec from a modest enterprise into a diversified energy conglomerate with operations spanning power, oil and gas, mining, agriculture, and technology.

Under Chantelle’s leadership, Mojec has become the largest electricity meter manufacturer in sub Saharan Africa, producing and deploying millions of smart meters across Nigeria. The company plays a central role in the Nigerian government’s National Mass Metering Programme, helping to close the country’s metering gap and eliminate estimated billing. Mojec’s operations now extend across the full power value chain, including generation, transmission, distribution, manufacturing, financing, and installation of energy solutions.

Chantelle Abdul’s impact has earned significant recognition. She was named LEADERSHIP Business Person of the Year 2022 in recognition of her contributions to Nigeria’s power sector. Under her leadership, Mojec has also received multiple industry recognitions, including being listed among the London Stock Exchange Group’s Companies to Inspire Africa. In 2024, she was appointed to the Board of the Ministry of Finance Incorporated, reflecting her growing influence in national economic development and public sector investment strategy.

Looking ahead, Chantelle Abdul remains focused on expanding Mojec’s footprint while driving innovation in energy infrastructure, smart technologies, and sustainable power solutions. Her vision is rooted in building an integrated energy ecosystem that supports economic growth, industrialisation, and improved quality of life across Africa. Through bold leadership and strategic execution, Chantelle continues to shape the future of energy and infrastructure on the continent.
