Spider-Man: Brand New Day Becomes Fastest 2026 Film to Reach One Million Admissions in South Korea

Marvel and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day has become the fastest film released in 2026 to surpass one million admissions in South Korea, reaching the milestone on just its second day in cinemas. According to Yonhap News Agency and Sony Pictures, the latest Spider-Man installment attracted more than one million moviegoers within two days of release, underscoring the enduring popularity of the franchise in one of Asia’s most important theatrical markets.

The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker, also set a new opening day record for 2026 in South Korea with approximately 680,000 admissions, before surpassing the two million admissions mark on its third day. The performance matches the pace of some of the country’s biggest Hollywood releases and signals a strong rebound for Marvel Studios at the Korean box office.

The achievement reinforces South Korea’s importance as a strategic international market for Hollywood studios, where strong audience demand can significantly influence global box office momentum. For the entertainment industry, the film’s rapid success reflects continued consumer appetite for established superhero franchises and highlights the commercial value of international markets in driving theatrical revenues. It also strengthens confidence in the global appeal of the Spider-Man brand as studios compete for record breaking box office performances.

Looking ahead, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to continue its strong theatrical run as positive audience reception and record breaking attendance fuel momentum across key international markets. With projections pointing to one of the biggest global openings of the year, the film is well positioned to become another major commercial success for Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios.
