Olanrewaju Alaka Wins Global Relevance Award at LWB Awards as Strategic PR Work Gains Recognition

The Limitless Without Borders Awards Lagos 2026 has recognised African Authority and Reputation Management Expert Olanrewaju Alaka with the Global Relevance Award, marking another significant recognition of his work across public relations, reputation management and strategic positioning.

Olanrewaju, Founder and CEO of Laerryblue Media and Pressdia, received the award on August 15, 2026, during Limitless Without Borders 4.0 at Queens Park Event Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos. The event, themed Building for Global Relevance, brought together professionals, entrepreneurs, creatives and business leaders from different industries.

The award comes after more than a decade of work during which Olanrewaju has developed an approach to public relations that connects communication with wider questions of authority, stakeholder trust and organisational reputation. Rather than treating publicity as an end in itself, his work focuses on what founders, executives and businesses need to be known for and how that positioning can support their broader objectives.

“I am honoured to receive the Global Relevance Award and sincerely grateful to Limitless Without Borders for this recognition. Moments like this give you an opportunity to appreciate the journey, the people who have trusted your work and the responsibility that comes with continuing to deliver at a higher level.”

Through Laerryblue Media, Olanrewaju leads a pan African public relations and reputation management agency working with founders, high growth businesses and senior executives. The agency’s work spans strategic storytelling, executive positioning, crisis communications and reputation governance.

A significant part of Olanrewaju’s work involves executive positioning. As founders and senior executives become increasingly visible representatives of the organisations they lead, he believes their public reputation can influence how stakeholders understand both their leadership and their businesses.

His approach begins with substance. Rather than attempting to create authority through exposure alone, Olanrewaju focuses on identifying the expertise, experience, achievements and perspectives that give a leader genuine credibility, before determining how those strengths should be communicated.

“Executive positioning should never be about creating an image that the work cannot support. Authority becomes powerful when there is substance behind it. Our responsibility is to identify that substance, give it the right context and communicate it consistently so the people who matter can understand its value.”

That same emphasis on credibility shapes his approach to crisis communications and reputation management. In an environment where information can travel rapidly and public perceptions can change within a short period, Olanrewaju believes organisations need to understand potential reputational risks before they develop into larger problems.

For him, effective reputation management also requires alignment between what an organisation communicates and what stakeholders experience. This makes reputation a responsibility that extends beyond media relations and into leadership decisions, customer relationships and organisational behaviour.

Olanrewaju’s work through Pressdia addresses a different challenge within the public relations landscape. The platform connects startups, small and medium sized businesses, agencies, NGOs and creatives to over 20,000 media outlets across African and international markets, widening access to media opportunities for organisations seeking to communicate their work.

He holds an MA in Public Relations from Sheffield Hallam University in the United Kingdom and is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations. Beyond his work with businesses and executives, Olanrewaju supports social impact initiatives with media and public relations expertise and contributes to developing professionals within the industry.

As public relations becomes more closely connected to corporate reputation, leadership credibility and stakeholder confidence, Olanrewaju believes practitioners must be able to demonstrate value beyond the amount of publicity they generate.

“The future of public relations is in proving its relevance to the decisions that matter to organisations. If our work can strengthen trust, protect reputation, position leadership and support business objectives, then communications becomes part of how an organisation creates value. That is the standard I want my work to continue advancing.”

The Global Relevance Award adds to Olanrewaju’s professional recognition while drawing attention to the role strategic public relations can play in how African founders, executives and businesses establish authority, manage perception and build credibility across local and international markets.
