Lenovo Group reported its strongest quarterly revenue growth in five years, sending its shares sharply higher as booming demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure and devices strengthened investor confidence in the technology giant’s growth outlook. According to Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal, revenue for the first quarter of fiscal 2026/27 rose 22% year on year to $26.94 billion, significantly exceeding analysts’ expectations of about $22.3 billion. Lenovo shares jumped as much as 17% following the results, reaching a record high.
AI related revenue climbed 60% to $9.3 billion, accounting for 35% of total group revenue, as demand for AI servers, AI enabled PCs and other computing infrastructure accelerated. Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group nearly doubled revenue and recorded operating profit of about $777 million, while its AI server order pipeline expanded to $54 billion, highlighting the scale of enterprise and cloud demand for AI computing capacity.
The results reinforce the commercial significance of the global AI investment cycle for hardware manufacturers and technology supply chains. For investors, Lenovo’s performance provides evidence that AI demand is increasingly translating into revenue across multiple segments rather than remaining concentrated among semiconductor and chip companies. The company’s ability to combine its leading PC business with expanding AI infrastructure and services also gives it multiple avenues for growth as enterprises increase spending on AI deployment.
Looking ahead, Lenovo’s challenge will be sustaining growth while managing rising component costs and intense competition across the global technology market. The company is targeting $100 billion in annual revenue within two years, making continued expansion in AI servers, AI PCs and enterprise technology central to its strategy. If AI infrastructure spending remains strong, Lenovo could increasingly emerge as a major beneficiary beyond the traditional PC market.
