Anike, born Ireoluwa-Anike Dees and formerly known as Wande, is a Nigerian American rapper, actress, speaker, and creative powerhouse redefining the landscape of Christian hip hop through bold storytelling, faith driven artistry, and cultural influence. As the first female artist signed to Reach Records, she has emerged as one of the most recognizable women in contemporary faith based music, bridging gospel, hip hop, and mainstream culture with authenticity and confidence.

Her passion for music began early through instrumental training in flute during middle school, while her eventual conversion to Christianity in seventh grade marked a defining turning point in her life. During a Christian camp internship in Texas in 2009, she encountered the Christian hip hop collective 116 Clique, which included artists such as Lecrae, Trip Lee, Tedashii, and Sho Baraka. The experience strengthened her commitment to faith and inspired her to pursue music as ministry despite resistance from parts of her family.

Before signing professionally, Anike built her career independently between 2013 and 2018, releasing singles, appearing on collaborative projects, and working as a music journalist. She also served as an A&R administrator at Reach Records before officially signing with the label in 2019, becoming the first woman in the company’s history to join its artist roster. Her signing was widely regarded as a landmark moment within Christian hip hop, a genre historically dominated by male performers.
Her debut EP, Exit, released in 2020, introduced audiences to a distinctive blend of hip hop, gospel, R&B, and pop influences, followed later that year by The Decision. Since then, she has continued to expand her influence through projects such as With Love, Anike and The Rap Pack. Her music and performances have earned recognition far beyond traditional gospel audiences, including appearances in ESPN and Apple campaigns, performances at Essence Festival, and collaborations with artists including TobyMac and Maverick City Music.
Anike’s achievements have continued to grow across music, culture, and media. She has contributed to Grammy nominated projects and Billboard number one releases, while her songs have been recognized by figures including Michelle Obama and Kirk Franklin through curated playlists and public endorsements. She has also hosted Girl Talk on TBNx, appeared in major campaigns, and built a strong digital audience through faith based comedic and inspirational content that has reached millions online.
Her recognitions include being named among Rapzilla’s Freshmen of the Year in 2018, becoming a multiple time Female Artist of the Year winner at the Black Christian Influencers Awards and Kingdom Choice Awards, and making history as the first female Christian rapper to perform on the main stage at Rolling Loud. She has additionally performed at the Dove Awards and Stellar Awards, while serving as a mentor through Grammy U and educational platforms focused on artist development.
Looking ahead, Anike continues to shape the future of Christian hip hop through music, mentorship, and cultural influence. Her journey reflects resilience, conviction, and creative excellence, positioning her as one of the defining female voices in modern faith based entertainment.
