Ami Doshi Shah: Reimagining Jewelry as Talismanic Art

Ami Doshi Shah’s jewelry brand I AM I stands as a striking testament to the power of storytelling through adornment. Based in Nairobi, Shah draws from her Kenyan roots and Indian heritage to craft pieces that are as sculptural as they are spiritual objects that carry meaning, memory, and raw beauty.

Trained in jewelry and silversmithing at the Birmingham School of Art & Design, Shah approaches design with an artist’s eye and a material alchemist’s hand.

Her collections embrace the unexpected sisal rope, salt crystals, volcanic stones, and oxidized brass, transformed into wearable talismans that defy convention. In works like Salt of the Earth and Memento Mori, she interrogates identity, mortality, and the body with bold, elemental grace.

With pieces stocked by select luxury concept stores and showcased in museums from London to New York, Ami Doshi Shah has established I AM I as a brand that bridges continents and philosophies. It is jewelry that speaks not just to the body, but to the soul.
