Professor Benedict Oramah, former President and Chairman of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), has been honored as African of the Decade at the 2025 African Awards for Business Leadership and Achievement (AABLA), recognizing his transformative leadership in African finance and trade. The award was presented during the gala ceremony held in Lagos, Nigeria, according to Business Insider Africa.
Oramah, credited with expanding Afreximbank’s footprint across the continent and boosting intra-African trade, was praised for his strategic initiatives that have significantly strengthened Africa’s economic resilience. “This recognition reflects the collective efforts of African institutions committed to economic growth and integration,” he said in his acceptance speech, as reported by The Africa Report.
