UAE and Africa Launch New Dialogue Series to Strengthen Economic Ties

The United Arab Emirates has launched a new dialogue series aimed at deepening trade and investment relations with Africa, as part of efforts to expand its global economic footprint. The initiative, known as the “UAE–Africa Dialogue,” was inaugurated in Abu Dhabi on October 28–29 by the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA) in partnership with the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), according to Gulf Time.

The two-day forum brought together senior diplomats, policymakers, and business leaders to explore opportunities in trade, infrastructure, energy transition, and investment partnerships. AGDA’s Director General said the dialogue underscored the UAE’s commitment to fostering sustainable partnerships across Africa, describing it as “a platform for shared growth and mutual prosperity,” as reported by Gulf Time.

Africa’s expanding role in global value chains and the UAE’s ongoing diversification drive have aligned to create a fertile ground for cooperation. The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the dialogue builds on existing engagement such as the Green Investment Initiative and growing Emirati participation in Africa’s logistics, agriculture, and renewable energy sectors.

For investors, the dialogue represents a formal platform for deal-making and policy coordination. The discussions also highlighted potential collaboration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which could open new trade corridors and financing opportunities between the Gulf and African economies.
