Ghana’s Economy Expands 6.3% in Q2 2025 on Services Growth

Ghana’s economy grew 6.3% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2025, supported largely by expansion in the services sector, official data show.

The Ghana Statistical Service reported that trade, information and communication, and financial services were the main drivers of growth. The data, published by Reuters, also indicated improvements in the agriculture and industry sectors, though at a slower pace compared to services.

Economists told Bloomberg that the latest figures suggest Ghana is on track to outperform earlier projections, buoyed by domestic demand and a rebound in business activity. They added that policy reforms and improved investor sentiment following the country’s debt restructuring deal are providing further support to growth.

The services sector now accounts for more than half of Ghana’s GDP. Financial Times noted that strong performance in digital services and banking continues to reinforce the country’s role as a regional hub for technology and finance.
