Event professionals from Nigeria and across Africa are set to converge in Nairobi, Kenya, for the seventh edition of the Global Event Managers Workshop, organised by the Event Managers Community and powered by Ife’ctiv Touch under the leadership of Adeife Abiodun Adeyemi. The three day programme is scheduled around August 31 to September 3, 2026, with the main workshop sessions taking place on September 1 and 2.
Themed “INNOVATE,” the workshop is designed to help event professionals strengthen their businesses through learning, networking, collaboration and shared industry experiences. Discussions will focus on innovation in event production, business growth, technology adoption, client experience and emerging opportunities within Africa’s expanding events economy.
The 2026 edition will feature industry voices from Nigeria, Kenya and Côte d’Ivoire, including Abidemi Adeyemi of Tammy’s Event, Astou Djamat Dubois of Spotlight Productions & Event Pro International, Chika Ibeabuchi of Gemini24 Events, Titus Adefila of Heddy Decorations & Bamz Media and Morris Kamweru of Zippy Events. Kenyan publicist and media personality Betty Kithinji and Nigerian MC Afolabi Akinsowon, known as MC Afroflux, are expected to anchor the programme.
Beyond the classroom sessions, the programme will include a welcome dinner, networking opportunities, business clinics and a Nairobi tour for visiting delegates. Parts of the workshop will also be livestreamed, extending participation to professionals unable to travel to Kenya. The organisers say the initiative reflects the growing importance of Africa’s events industry to tourism, trade, employment and business development.
