The Audacity To Be Seen 2.0: Building Brands, Creating Influence, and Taking Up Space

The Audacity To Be Seen Masterclass 2.0, an initiative of OGWA Studios, brought together founders, entrepreneurs, creatives, and young professionals in Lagos for a day of learning, connection, and intentional conversations around visibility, branding, storytelling, leadership, influence, and business growth.

The second edition of The Audacity To Be Seen was built around a simple but powerful belief: having something valuable to offer is only part of the journey. You must also have the courage and clarity to communicate that value and take up space.

Through practical sessions, keynote conversations, a panel discussion, and networking opportunities, participants were challenged to rethink how they build their personal and professional brands and how they position themselves for opportunities in an increasingly competitive world.

A major theme throughout the masterclass was the relationship between audacity and building. Prosper Light, founder of OGWA Studios and convener of The Audacity To Be Seen, captured this during the event:

“You need audacity to build without currency. Audacity is a currency, so spend it building your brand.”
— Prosper Light

The masterclass also explored the role of visibility in creating opportunities and establishing influence. During the panel conversation, Prosper Light, Akinrinola David, and Rebecca Olagbende examined what it means to build and communicate a brand authentically, while encouraging participants to become more intentional about how they show up.

Akinyemi Akinola reinforced the importance of understanding visibility as a means rather than an end:

“Visibility is not the end goal; it is the entry point.”
— Akinyemi Akinola

Beyond visibility and branding, the masterclass addressed leadership, discipline, problem-solving, and the responsibility of young Africans to actively engage with the challenges around them.

Oluwaseun Ambassador challenged participants to embrace the discipline required to sit with difficult problems and develop meaningful solutions:

“You’re going to solve the African problem if you’re proactive about being disciplined enough to sit with the problem.”
— Oluwaseun Ambassador

The sessions were led by an accomplished group of facilitators: Tolu Adibe, Connor, Sam Adedoyin, Amb. Nimi Adegbite, Oluwaseun Ambassador, Eefomaa Elentiya, and Akinyemi Akinola, who brought diverse perspectives and practical insights to the conversations.

The masterclass also created room for participants to connect beyond the formal sessions. Through networking and informal conversations, attendees were able to exchange ideas, discover shared interests, explore potential collaborations, and build relationships with people across different industries and fields.

To mark their participation and learning experience, attendees were also presented with certificates of participation, recognising their engagement in The Audacity To Be Seen Masterclass 2.0.

The success of TABS 2.0 was made possible through the support of its partners and media stakeholders, including Creativerse by Fidelity, Crest Africa, Beta Digitals, Memory House Media, Villpress, Empire Magazine Africa, and Laerryblue Media.

Their support helped create an environment where participants could learn, connect, exchange ideas, and begin thinking more intentionally about the brands, businesses, careers, and ideas they are building.

Ultimately, The Audacity To Be Seen 2.0 was more than a masterclass. It was a call to action — to stop waiting for permission, to become intentional about visibility, to build with courage, and to understand that influence is built through consistent value.

You have something to build. You have something to say. You have something to contribute.

Sometimes, what you need to take the next step is simply the audacity to be seen.
