Olajumoke Adenowo is the Founder and Principal Partner of AD Consulting, a leading architecture and design firm behind some of Nigeria’s most iconic commercial and institutional structures. Widely regarded as one of Africa’s foremost architects, she has built a distinguished global reputation for excellence in design, innovation, and enterprise, earning international recognition as “Africa’s Starchitect” by CNN.
Olajumoke Adenowo’s journey began with remarkable academic distinction. She gained admission into Obafemi Awolowo University at the age of 14, where she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architecture with distinction, graduating as the best student in her class. Her early career was defined by precocious achievement, contributing to major national projects including the design of the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja at just 23, establishing her as a rising force in Nigeria’s architectural space.
In 1994, she founded AD Consulting, building it into a globally respected firm with over 70 completed projects across corporate, institutional, and public sectors. Her portfolio spans multinational corporations, financial institutions, and government developments, reflecting a design philosophy that merges functionality, cultural identity, and modern aesthetics. Beyond architecture, she has expanded into broader enterprise, reinforcing her influence across business and development.
Her impact extends beyond the built environment into leadership and social transformation. In 1999, she founded the Awesome Treasures Foundation, a platform focused on raising transformational leaders, particularly among women and youth. Through her “Voice of Change” initiative and global speaking engagements, she continues to shape conversations around governance, leadership, and societal development.
Olajumoke Adenowo’s excellence has been recognised through numerous prestigious awards and honours across architecture, business, and leadership. Her confirmed recognitions include the IDEA Awards for Best Commercial Designer (2012), Best Interior Architect (2013), and Best Institutional Architect (2014); the International Property Awards for Best Public Service Architecture (2012/2013); and the African Property Awards for Best Mixed Use Architecture (2013). She received the Ekiti State Merit Award in 2014, the New African Woman in Business Award in 2016, and was named Africa’s Most Inspiring Business Woman in 2017.
Her global recognition continued with the International Alliance for Women World of Difference 100 Award, followed by her selection as Forbes Africa Entrepreneur of the Year in 2020 and inclusion in Forbes Africa’s 50 Most Powerful Women in 2020 and 50 Over 50 Most Powerful Women in 2023.
