The Damina Sisters, Jemima Damina, Jesimiel Damina, and Jeiel Damina, are Nigerian filmmakers, writers, actors, musicians, and entrepreneurs who have become one of Africa’s most inspiring creative collectives. As the founders of Neptune3 Studios, the trio has built a global audience by producing wholesome, youth-centered films and television series that celebrate friendship, family, purpose, and hope. Through compelling storytelling and digital innovation, they have emerged as pioneers of independent African filmmaking, proving that authentic stories created on the continent can resonate with millions around the world. Neptune3 Studios, founded in 2018, was born from their shared vision of telling diverse Nigerian stories for young audiences through film, television, and music.

Originally from Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, the sisters discovered their love for storytelling at an early age. Determined to turn that passion into a career, they pursued world-class education at Full Sail University in the United States. Jesimiel Damina earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Animation and a master’s degree in Creative Writing, while Jemima Damina completed degrees in Film and Entertainment Business. Jeiel Damina later also earned a master’s degree in Creative Writing, further strengthening the creative foundation of the trio. Their international education equipped them with technical expertise while reinforcing their commitment to telling authentic African stories for a global audience.
After returning to Nigeria, the sisters independently wrote, produced, and released their debut film, The New Girl, on YouTube. What began as a passion project quickly became an unexpected success as audiences embraced its relatable storytelling and positive themes. Encouraged by the overwhelming response, they expanded the story into the hit web series Best Friends in the World, which has since become one of Africa’s most successful youth drama series on YouTube. The franchise has grown to include multiple seasons, spin-offs, original soundtracks, and an expanding cinematic universe, attracting millions of viewers across the globe. Neptune3 Studios has now amassed well over one million YouTube subscribers and hundreds of millions of cumulative views, making it one of Africa’s leading independent digital film studios.

Each sister brings a unique creative strength that has fueled the studio’s success. Jemima serves as the filmmaker, director, producer, and creative visionary behind many of the studio’s productions. Jesimiel is the principal screenwriter, creative writer, animator, and production designer whose scripts and world-building have shaped the Neptune3 brand. Jeiel complements the team as an actress, musician, public speaker, blogger, and creative writer, captivating audiences through both her performances and music. Together, their complementary talents have created a production model that seamlessly blends filmmaking, music, writing, and digital storytelling into a distinctive creative identity.

Beyond filmmaking, the sisters are accomplished musicians who perform together as Triple J Plus. Through inspirational pop music rooted in positive values, they have released projects including Story and several original soundtracks for their productions. Songs such as The Only Way, Like Lightning, and This Is Forever reflect the same uplifting themes that define their films, further expanding their influence across Africa’s creative landscape.

Their work has earned growing international recognition. Jemima Damina was honored as Best Emerging Filmmaker in Nigeria 2025, recognizing her leadership in building one of Africa’s most successful women-led independent production companies. The sisters have also been celebrated for demonstrating how digital platforms can democratize filmmaking and allow African creators to reach worldwide audiences without relying on traditional distribution channels.
Today, Neptune3 Studios continues to expand its portfolio with acclaimed productions including Table for Two, School Love Stories, Karma, and the forthcoming Best Friends in the World: The Year Between. Through every project, the Damina Sisters remain committed to producing stories that inspire hope, celebrate African excellence, and reflect the realities of young people with authenticity and optimism.
As filmmakers, writers, musicians, and entrepreneurs, Jemima, Jesimiel, and Jeiel Damina represent a new generation of African creatives redefining what is possible for independent storytellers. Their journey from a shared dream to building one of Africa’s most recognizable digital studios stands as a powerful testament to creativity, collaboration, and the enduring power of stories told with purpose.
