Maryam Apaokagi Redefining Digital Comedy and Storytelling in Africa

Maryam Apaokagi is a Nigerian comedian, content creator, and cinematographer widely known by her stage name Taaooma, a digital storyteller who has transformed everyday African experiences into a powerful form of global entertainment. As the founder of Chop Tao and a creative force behind The Greenade Company, Maryam has built a distinctive brand that merges humor, relatability, and production excellence, positioning her among the most influential voices in Africa’s digital content ecosystem.

Maryam’s journey into content creation began in 2015 when she learned video editing from her fiancé, a turning point that would shape her creative path. Though she studied Tourism and Travel Service Management at Kwara State University, her passion for storytelling led her into comedy, where she found her voice by portraying relatable African family dynamics.
