Nigeria to Launch Port Trade Platform in Major Reform Push

Nigeria is set to launch a National Single Window trade platform at its ports as part of a sweeping reform aimed at modernising and streamlining its trade ecosystem, Reuters reported.

The platform, scheduled for rollout in March 2026, will serve as a unified digital interface for importers, exporters, government agencies, and logistics providers, replacing the current fragmented system of multiple processes and approvals .

BusinessDay says the initiative is designed to cut red tape, reduce port delays, and improve efficiency, while enhancing Nigeria’s competitiveness in global trade. The system will harmonise documentation, payments, and regulatory checks into a single platform, significantly lowering transaction costs and clearance times .

PunchNG views the reform as a critical step toward addressing longstanding bottlenecks at Nigerian ports, with the potential to boost trade volumes, improve transparency, and strengthen revenue collection, positioning the country more effectively within regional and global supply chains .
