Sustainability Week Africa 2025: Building the Continent’s Green Future

The second annual Sustainability Week Africa will take place on October 30–31, 2025, at The Westin, Cape Town, convening leaders from business, government, academia, and civil society. Organized by Economist Impact in partnership with Platform Africa, the summit has positioned itself as a premier gathering for driving Africa’s sustainability agenda.

The inaugural edition in 2024 brought together participants from more than twenty countries and sparked critical discussions on renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and the circular economy. That debut set the tone for what has quickly become a continental forum for shaping green transformation.

This year’s edition seeks to move the conversation from ambition to action. With a focus on energy transition, green finance, trade and transport sustainability, the program will explore practical pathways for Africa to scale climate solutions while ensuring inclusive economic growth. Through workshops, case studies, and high-level panels, the event will highlight not just what must be done, but how it can be achieved in the African context.

Cape Town provides a symbolic and strategic location. As a city with growing green initiatives and one of Africa’s financial hubs, it offers the right environment for forging commitments that can extend across the continent. For policymakers and investors alike, the summit represents an opportunity to connect vision with implementation.

At its core, Sustainability Week Africa 2025 answers a pressing question: how can Africa meet its development goals while building resilience in the face of climate change? For anyone serious about the future of business and society on the continent, this is more than a conference. It is a chance to be part of Africa’s blueprint for a sustainable future.
