Renaissance Energy Launches Flare Reduction Project, Boosts Gas Production

Renaissance Energy has inaugurated a major flare reduction initiative at its Nigerian operations, aiming to cut gas flaring while simultaneously increasing natural gas output. The project, which incorporates advanced gas capture and processing technology, is part of the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.

According to Renaissance Energy’s Chief Operating Officer, the project is expected to recover significant volumes of gas previously lost to flaring, supplying both domestic power plants and industrial users. The initiative aligns with Nigeria’s broader regulatory push to curb flaring and maximize gas utilization, as highlighted by local industry reports.

Experts cited by Bloomberg note that the move could improve Nigeria’s energy security and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, providing both economic and environmental benefits. The flare reduction project represents a strategic step in Renaissance Energy’s ongoing efforts to modernize its infrastructure and expand gas production capacity.
