French media giant Canal+ has partnered with Google to integrate artificial intelligence tools aimed at improving video production workflows and personalized content recommendations across its streaming platforms, as reported by CNBC Africa.
The collaboration will enable Canal+ to deploy Google’s AI technologies to automate several production processes, including video indexing, metadata generation, and editing support, allowing teams to manage and distribute content more efficiently across its growing catalogue of films and television programming.
The technology will also strengthen the platform’s recommendation systems, using AI to analyse viewing habits and deliver more personalised suggestions to subscribers, improving audience engagement and content discovery.
ChannelNews Asia says the partnership reflects a wider shift across the global media industry, where broadcasters and streaming platforms are increasingly adopting artificial intelligence to streamline operations, enhance user experience, and stay competitive in the rapidly evolving digital entertainment market. AI tools are already being used across media production to improve workflows, including automated transcription, translation, and video analysis capabilities.
